Founded in 1876 by Fritz Henkel, Henkel moved its headquarters to Düsseldorf in 1878 and acquired the current site in Düsseldorf-Holthausen in 1899. This location, benefiting from excellent transport links and proximity to the Rhine, has developed into a significant industrial park. Today, it hosts Henkel AG & Co. KGaA, BASF, and KLK Oleo, covering 143 hectares and employing around 11,000 people. The park supports the entire industrial value chain, including research, development, manufacturing, distribution, and various services.
